Ear to the Earth is a worldwide network based on the idea that environmental sound can connect us to the environment with a special vibrancy and emotional depth. The goal is to heighten environmental awareness through sound, inspire engagement in environmental issues, and sustain engagement through ongoing activities.

The politics of the senses in our urban ’sonic commons’ ; and Elliott Sharp :: Ganging the Hook :: With guitar and electronics, Sharp explores the reality of Corlear’s Hook
Saturday, October 10 @ 8pm :: Sounds from Africa :: David Monacchi :: Sounds of the Dzanga-Sangha Reserve :: Monacchi presents the sounds of a primary equatorial rainforest ; and Steven Feld & Nii Otoo Annan :: Bufo Variations :: Interactions with the sounds of frogs by Steven Feld and Nii Otoo Annan, master drummer from Accra, Ghana.
Also on Saturday, October 10 @ 3pm :: Eco-Concerns :: An open forum in which scientists and artists present their work and discuss environmental issues, with Steven Feld, Lillian Ball, John Rowden, Rich Pell, Garth Paine, Boryana Rosa, and Aviva Rahmani
