Karlsruhe]

PIANO+ 2007 – Music for piano and electronics :: December 13–15, 2007 :: ZKM, Lorenzstraße 19, D – 76135 Karlsruhe.
Striving to create previously unheard-of sounds has always been the goal of instrumentalists and composers. At a round table with ZKM CEO Peter Weibel, musicologist Prof. Dr. R. Frisius, two pianists, and two composers, will explore the question of which conditions are necessary for sound research to take places. On Friday, composer Philippe Manoury will introduce his work PLUTON. Christian Nagel, who is well known to audiences of the Piano+ concerts, will present this feature work of the festival. Musicologist Prof. Dr. Siegfried Mauser will take part in the round table on Saturday and in the evening will perform a colorful program for piano and electronics with works by Haas and Neuwirth, among others. In Voices and Piano by Peter Ablinger, presented on Saturday night will be a very specific musicality of language synchronously with a talking piano. Closing this year’s festival on Friday night will be two debut works, Martin Bergande’s madu 0.8 pyong and Peter Ablinger’s two-minute work.
