The separation of space represents the emphasis on privacy and the individual. Compartmentalizing our live space was an effect of our perspective of self in the world.
He woke up feeling the morning chill. It had been cooler
than the days before. The sun was almost above his head, but
he could not feel the normal rays beating on him. Today was
different. Clouds covered the sky leaving the Guides with
hazy vision. The world was softer that day.
Tonight each Guide would have to address the assignment. He would
spend the day trying to understand the minds' of people from foreign
lands. He would try to imagine a machine life and a detachment from
the land. What would be the benefits of this life of machines. He
would be able to skip time, leaving out the parts he cared not for.
He could hear and see sound and image of a place or person far far
away. He decided that it would be difficult to convince the machine
people to relinquish their skipping devices.....>
