The next morning the King had these things delivered to the castle.
When evening approached, the youth entered the castle.
He made himself a bright fire in one of the rooms.
He placed the cutting board and knife beside it
and seated himself by the turning-lathe.
He sighed and said:
"Ah ... if I could but shudder!
But, I fear that I will not learn it here either."
